Robert Kevin Billerman died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at home. He was 89.

Born in Newark, he resided there before moving to South River 62 years ago.

Prior to retiring in 1994, he was an Account Executive for Moore Business Forms, New York, NY, where he worked for over 40 years.

A US Army veteran, Robert served during WWII from 1946 to 1947.

He was a communicant of St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River; and was a member of Corpus Christi Holy Name Society.

Robert formerly served as Town Councilman and Police Commissioner of South River. He also was a member of Summit Engine Company of the South River Fire Department for 44 years.

Robert was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Brand Billerman, in 2014; his two brothers, Jack and William; a sister, Beatrice Madden; and his granddaughter, Jillian Billerman, in 2014.

Surviving are his three sons, Robert Jr. and his wife, Maryann, of Point Pleasant, Stephen and his wife, Kim, of Bristol, CT, and James and his wife, Joyce of South River; four daughters, Jeanne Buffalino and her husband, Gregory, of Glenwood, Eileen Timper of South River, Mary Russell and Paul Karpa of Garwood, and Carol DeMetro and her husband, James, of Jackson; 20 grandchildren, Brad, Jessica, Jaime, Jackie, Bryan, Kevin, Amy, Wayne, Shawn, Jennifer, Kelly, Michael, Colleen, Katelyn, Kara, Matthew, Kyle, Alec, Zachary and Christopher; and 21 great grandchildren, Noah, Amber, Eli, Chelsea, Derek, Haylie, Charlie, Peyton, Lyla, Amelia, Raelyn, Aundrea, Brayden, Kyler, Myles, Madison, Colin, Maddox, Mallory, Ian and James.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8th, 9:15 AM, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River. Interment will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
