Robert J. Crosby, 84, of Bridgewater died on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. He was born in Metuchen on June 3, 1929, a son of the late Samuel H. and Charlotte Marion Crosby. He had resided in Somerville before moving to Bridgewater 53 years ago. He was a 1947 graduate of Somerville High School and a US Navy veteran having served from 1948 to 1951. Mr. Crosby was an instrument and control designer employed by Komline Sanderson in Peapack for 33 years retiring in 1992. He had owned and operated Zeta Potenial Instruments in Bridgewater since 1992. Bob was an avid reader and walker and an amateur photographer.

He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Doremus Crosby, who died July 18, 2013, and by a brother, William Crosby. Mr. Crosby is survived by a son, Jeffrey O. Crosby and his wife, Bonnie, of Bridgewater; a daughter, Kathy A. Crosby and her husband, Glenn Schembri, of Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY, and a sister, Dorothy Crosby of Somerville.

Funeral service at the Layton funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Friday, April 4 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
