ROBERT JOSEPH TIGHE
AGE: 79
SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C.
Robert Joseph Tighe, 79, of Surfside Beach, S.C., formerly of Plainfield and Bridgewater, N.J. passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon. Robert, known by his many friends and relatives as Bob, was born in Newark, N.J., and lived for more than a quarter-century in the Garden State where he enjoyed raising his family, and being involved in Little League Baseball, Pop Warner football, and CYO basketball at St. Bernard's Church and School. Bob enjoyed golf, and many other recreational sports, but most of all, loved traveling and dancing with the love of his life, Agnes, who died in 2007. He was a communicant of St. Michael's R.C. Church in Garden City, S.C. since 1989.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas, and Mildred Tighe. Surviving are his sons, Tommy of Coral Springs, Florida;, Gerry and his wife, Nancy of West Long Branch, N.J.; Danny and his wife, Nancy of Bluffton, S.C., and a daughter, Diane Eosso, and her husband, Pete of Moyock, N.C. Bob is survived by his sister, Frances Havel, of Katonah, N.Y, and seven grandchildren, Robby, Kyle, Rachel, Corinne, Alison, Claire, and Stephanie.
The family will receive friends from 9 10 AM Tuesday August 3,2010 at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in West End, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael's Church New Building Fund, 542 Cypress Avenue, Garden City, SC 29576. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bob. He and Agnes were both patients in our office for many years. I would love to hear of all of the wonderful places they traveled. After hearing his stories, I felt as though I had gone there myself. Both Bob and Agnes will continue to be greatly missed by me and my whole staff. Warmest Regards,
