Robert Yang Obituary

(Asbury Park Press)

ROBERT (CHAO-FUNG) YANG
AGE: 88 HOLMDEL
Robert, 88, of Holmdel, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010, at his Taipei home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Fujian, Fuzhou, where he also married Helen Wu in 1949. After graduating from Xiamen University, Robert served as senior vice president for Taiwan Telcom until 1986. After his retirement, he served as CEO of the Taipei Technology Exhibit Center until 1988. In 1992, Robert and Helen moved across the world to the United States for several years to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed. Words cannot capture the lifetime of wonderful memories nor express the immense gratitude felt by his family for having had Robert in their lives. His son-in-law, Jeff Wu writes of Robert, "The best, kindest father-in-law you could wish for. I'll never forget you, because memories last longer than dreams. Goodnight, I love you, and God bless. Hope to see you in heaven someday."
Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, four children, nine grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
A private memorial service will be held Friday, April 16 in Taipei.
