Ryan Zehrer Obituary
AGE: 36 • Brick
Ryan Michael Zehrer, 36, of Brick, NJ, left us to live in eternal peace Monday, January 9, 2017.
Born in Neptune, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Brick. Ryan loved the outdoors, often surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding or hiking with his beloved friends.
Ryan was a 1999 graduate of Brick Memorial High School where he was on the wrestling and football teams. He was a fourth generation Iron Worker for Local 373, Perth Amboy, NJ.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Charles Sr. and Rena Zehrer.
Ryan is survived by his longtime girlfriend Colleen Wood, his mother Dina Zehrer of Howell, NJ, his father Robert and Debbie Zehrer of Waretown, his sister Shannon and her husband Chris Maroldo of Ocean Twp., and his niece and nephew AvaGrace and Mason. He is also survived by his Aunt Charlene Urrutia of Lakewood, his Uncle Charles Jr. and Susan Zehrer of Manahawkin, and his Aunt Gerri and Fred Lo of Wall. He is also survived and will be missed terribly by his loving cousins Kimberly (Zehrer) and Michael Sullivan of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Philip and Jessica Zehrer of Brick, Amanda (Zehrer) and Jamy Morrissey, Manahawkin, and Alex Lo and Erica Lo, both of Wall. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Jerry and Joann Diamond of Georgia.
The family will receive friends Saturday 2-5pm with a funeral service to be offered at 3:30pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.

Zehrer Family,
I am so sorry for your family's loss. Ryan used to talk so very highly of his family. He adored his niece and nephew. He never said a bad thing about anyone. He was always so polite and sweet. It was an honor to of known him. My prayers are with all of you in this hard time.

I don't know how Colleen and Haile will live each day without you. My 12 year old grandson enjoyed being around you so much. He told me you were his best friend. I am so thankful for teaching him patience, kindness, and love. My heart is heavy with grief. You were a part of our family. We will never forget your generosity letting us stay in your condo while our house was being lifted as a result of Super Storm Sandy. You helped us move our things, whenever we needed you, you were there. Never complain. Never boastful. Never a bad thing to say about anyone. We are so thankful to have had you in our life. If only briefly, you were our angel. When my patience are short, you will still be in my memory saying, "What would Ryan do? How would he handle this?" Always with kindness. You have taught me too and I thank you. I will miss your gentle spirit. Love you, Ryan.
