AGE: 87 •
Sonya Grill passed away Sunday morning March 20, 2016 in her home that she loved in Deal. She was 87 years old. Sonya was born in Bradley Beach and lived near the Jersey Shore her entire life. Sonya was predeceased by her husband Robert with whom she shared almost 58 wonderful years. She was also predeceased by her parents Rose and Abraham and by her brother, David Maltzman.
Sonya is survived by her daughter Pola and her husband Rich Sussman of Rumson, NJ, by her son, Dr. William Grill and his wife Dr. Belina Grill of Deal, NJ, and by her five grandchildren whom she adored, Nina, Jeffrey, and Jodi Sussman and Ross and Sarah Grill. Sonya attended Monmouth Junior College and taught baton twirling for many years. She was active in real estate up until her death and founded Sonya Grill Real Estate Inc. 49 years ago. Sonya was known as a fierce advocate for her clients and a tenacious negotiator.
Family will be sitting Shiva at 48 Deal Esplanade, Deal NJ from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bloomfield Cooper handled the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Grill and the entire Grill family were my grandparents neighbor for over 40 years and I've known them since I was a little kid. They have ALWAYS been the dictionary example of good neighbors and good people. Were always VERY welcoming to my grandparents, parents, me and my brother and EVERYONE ELSE. It's very sad that this day has come and nothing but MY FULLEST CONDOLENCES go out to the ENTIRE GRILL FAMILY and I am VERY GLAD to have known Mrs. Grill and the ENTIRE GRILL FAMILY. RIP.

Sonya and Bob were wonderful neighbors and friends to Phyllis and me for over forty years as well as our realtor- Sonya will be greatly missed by the Daly family forever.
