Thomas Havard Obituary
AGE: 81 • Hazlet
Thomas Ward Havard Sr., "Tom," 81, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at his home. He was born on Oct. 20, 1933 in Kingston, PA, where he grew up. Thomas also lived in Irvington for a short time, and in 1963, he settled in Hazlet. Before retiring, Tom worked as a warehouse manager for 42 years at Schering Plough in New Jersey. Tom was also a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth (Adams) Havard, his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Ann (Fockler) Havard in 1990, and wife Anna Marie (Talerico) Havard in 2008. Tom is survived by his loving children, Cynthia Yacovelli and her husband Michael of Holmdel, Thomas W. Havard Jr. and Marilyn Alu of Hazlet, Sally Keegan and her husband Brian of Hazlet, Bill Havard and Jody Phillips of West Long Branch, and Edward Havard Sr. and Donna Patrick of Keyport. Tom is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Noce, Jillian Yacovelli, Jamie Yacovelli, Kelsey Keegan, Edward Havard Jr., Donovan James Havard, his 4 adored great-grandchildren, along with many dear nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, and from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning, Sept. 10 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N., Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach. Interment, Fair View Cemetery, Middletown/Red Bank. Didn't know of his passing because I would've come to the viewing. Tom was an absolute doll to work with. Kind and caring, always willing to help. You were all lucky to have him in your lives and I wish you all the best. We were a wonderful company that had great employees, Tom was at the top of the list as one of the best.
