WILLIAM MALINKA
AGE: 72 BARNEGAT
William "Bill" Malinka, 72, of Barnegat, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at his home. He was born in 1937 in Jersey City. William was a 1955 graduate of Leonardo High School and joined the U.S. Army that same year. He was discharged as a sergeant in 1958. William was trained and worked as a meteorologist before going to work for GE from 1960 to 1988. He then worked for Franklin Electric in Atlantic City until his retirement in 1999.
Surviving are his loving wife and best friend, Evelyn Malinka; his two daughters, Kathryn Malinka and her husband John Pantelakis, and Karen Malinka and her fiance Howard Koch III; his grandson, William Vogelman; as well as several nieces.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Malinka; his two brothers and his sister. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, William and Jeffrey Malinka.
Visiting will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral gathering is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 and a service will be offered at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
