GALLIPOLIS FERRY — Mark W. Wright, 60, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.
He was born Nov. 1, 1957, in Mason, a son of the late Olston "Nick" Wright and Ruth Ella (Baird) Wright.
Mark was a member and trustee of Zion Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry. He was a graduate of Wahama High School Class of 1976 and worked 25 plus years for the Mason County Board of Education as a bus driver. He loved all of his school bus children through the years. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman who cherished his time spent on the lake with fishing buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue (Stevens) Wright, whom he married Aug. 27, 1976; two children, A. J. (Loraine) Wright of New Haven and Markia "Kia" (Derek) Weber of Gallipolis Ferry; the light of his world his grand-kids, Ella Wright, Alyssa Wright, and Rhys Weber.
Mark is also survived by three sisters, Kim (David) Duncan of Point Pleasant, Kathie (David) Hoffman of Carroll, Ohio, and Nikki (Manning) Roe of New Haven; a brother, Randy Wright of Mason and his fiancee Vicki Gardner; seven nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Cody Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Dear Brenda,
I am very sorry to learn the passing of your beloved and best friend Mark.Having known him since the day he was born and seeing him grow up from a youngster the years have passed by so quickly,Mark was so blessed for having you as his wife and your and his children being brought up in a Christan and sound home and being a great dad is what the world needs more of today. Our good friend John Mohr shared his obituary with me for which I am greatful for. God Bless you Brenda and Family and May GodBless and Keep Mark through out Eternity.
