ULSTER — Korah Robert Sands, 81, of Ulster, formerly of Falls, passed away early Monday morning, Sept. 20, 2021, at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
Korah was born in Mehoopany on Jan. 21, 1940, the son of Gilbert "Ted" Sands and Sarah (French) Sands. Following graduation from Tunkhannock High School, Korah enlisted with the U.S. Air Force, where he served from 1957 to 1962 as an aircraft mechanic. In early years, Korah worked as an auto mechanic, in well drilling and as a milk truck driver. He was later employed by Bendix Corp. in Montrose for 3 years and by P&G in Mehoopany for 23 years until retirement.
Korah was known as a perfectionist and for his ability to fix almost anything. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles and airplanes, flying, home projects and hunting. Korah was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna L. (Dymond) Sands; daughter, Lori Sands; grandchildren, Nickolas Kiwak and Haley Coolbaugh, all of Ulster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Korah was predeceased by eight siblings.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
