WILKES-BARRE — Patrick R. O'Brien, Sr., 80, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday morning, May 28, 2022 at his home.
Born in Plains Township, he was the son of the late Terrance P. and Helen (Holbrook) O'Brien, Sr.
Patrick was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, serving from November 1959 to December 1960. Upon his honorable discharge from active duty, he was employed as a barber at the VA Medical Center, Plains, for over 20 years. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Miners Mills.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel O'Brien.
Surviving are his children, Sherri O'Brien, Plains, and Patrick O'Brien, Jr., and his wife Nadine, Suffolk, Va.; grandsons Colin O'Brien, and Michael and Gavin Bittenbender; great-grandson Brody O'Brien; brothers Robert O'Brien, Alabama, Terrance O'Brien, Jr., Inkerman, John O'Brien, and Richard O'Brien, both of Wilkes-Barre; sisters Beth Anne Willison, Swoyersville and Colleen Flecknoe, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Patrick's Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main St., Plains, Pa. 18705.
