Connie Warcup Obituary

Connie Mae Warcup
Jacksonville - Connie Mae Warcup, 84, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, October 10, 2024, at her residence. She was born June 17, 1940, in Jacksonville, the daughter of William E. and Iola M. Rea Fanning. She married Danny Lee Warcup on June 22, 1958, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1990.
Mrs. Warcup is survived by three daughters, Charitie (Bob Peak) McGuire of Chapin, Cathy (Larry) Reichert of Jacksonville, and Cindy Stuckey of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) McGuire, Mathew (Rachel) McGuire, Danielle Warcup, Lyndsea (Adam) Shankel, Shane Reichert, Brooke Stuckey, Paige (Michael) Lavin, Colin Warcup, and Carleigh Warcup; seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Claire, Lincoln, Memphis, Marley, Reid, and Liam; one sister, Carolyn (Edward) Thompson of Jacksonville, several nieces and nephews, and her cat Callie. She is also survived by her special friend and caregiver, Luanne Davidsmeyer of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Warcup (surviving wife Edith of Pana).
Mrs. Warcup was a secretary for several local businesses and retired from Passavant Hospital. She was an active member of Women of the Moose, an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed playing bunco. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was proud to have been a drum majorette for two years at Jacksonville High School. Above all, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (GG).
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Home Service Hospice. I had the pleasure oh knowing Connie when she was the switchboard operator at Passavant. We had many conversations about our children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and I will always remember her great laugh. My condolences to her family that she dearly loved.
