David "Dave" Quinn
David "Dave" Quinn, 61, of Washington, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
He was born July 25, 1963 in Jacksonville, IL to the late Charles and Helen (Bangert) Quinn. He married Nancy Garber in Peoria on December 12, 1987. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jacob (Lauren) Quinn, Joseph (Rachel) Quinn, Jessica Quinn; one granddaughter, Everly Quinn with grandbaby Sienna on the way; one sister, Sally (Andrew) Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was a graduate of Jacksonville HS, Eureka College, and ISU. He taught history, coached track, speech, and scholastic bowl, and served as union president and athletic director at Oak Grove School in Bartonville for 35 years before retiring. He took students to Washington DC during 16 summer vacations during his career. He played football at Eureka College, later coaching football at EC and Eureka H.S. He coached soccer and baseball, and served as a Cub Scout leader for his children's teams/troops. He was a member of The Bridge UMC and many professional organizations.
Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. A visitation will be Saturday, March 15th, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Oak Grove School, 6018 W. Lancaster Road in Bartonville. There will be a second visitation from 10am to Noon on Monday, March 17th, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Noon on Monday with Rev. Tom Goodell officiating. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bridge United Methodist Church in Washington, or to The Ark animal shelter in Lacon.
