Jack L. McNeece
Jacksonville - Jack L. McNeece, 74, of Jacksonville, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Lee A. and Leta Doris (Jackson) McNeece. He married Glenda Downs and she survives.
He is also survived by his stepson, Nathan Pitman of Jacksonville; one son, Travis McNeece of Jacksonville; and one daughter, Erin (Mike) Alloway of South Jacksonville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlyn L. Lambert of Texas and Penny Vaniter of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Lambert and James Vaniter.
Jack was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had worked for Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville and later retired from Jacksonville Developmental Center. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and especially enjoyed taking care of his neighbors' lawns with his "drive-by landscaping" skills.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent online at airsman-hires.com.
