Josephine Meyer Obituary
Jacksonville - Josephine "Jo" Lucille Meyer, 95, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, passed away on July 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Georgetown, TX.
She was born on December 2, 1929, in Sinclair, IL, to Oliver and Lucille (Grady) Graves. Jo married Robert Meyer on June 2, 1952, in Jacksonville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers, Joe, Jim, and Harold Graves.
Jo is survived by her son, Greg (Julie) Meyer of Georgetown, TX; grandson, Alex (Jenny Angelo) Meyer of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Jill (Blas) Agosto of Hutto, TX; sister, Ada Reed; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and retired from Bound to Stay Bound Books, both located in Jacksonville. Jo was happiest surrounded by family, eating sweets, and watching birds.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Centenary United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to Centenary United Methodist Church. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
