Roodhouse - Patrick Neal Evans of Roodhouse, Illinois, passed away in Springfield, IL on January 20, 2024, at 63 years of age. Patrick was born in White Hall, IL to parents, Darrell D Evans and Elinora M Deck Evans on July 23, 1960. Pat attended Alsey Grade School, Winchester High School, Lincoln Land Junior College and received his bachelor's degree from Illinois State University.
Patrick enjoyed a career in finance. He truly enjoyed working with farmers, individuals, and other entities in his employment at various institutions, where he made many friends. After retirement, Patrick enjoyed being involved in his community where he was able to share his knowledge.
Patrick made friends wherever he went. He loved traveling with them and traveling to visit family and friends. He was always up for spontaneous travel both near and far – and it wasn't unusual for him to see someone he knew on these trips, even across the country. Patrick loved working on the family farm and mowing. He would often stop to talk with friends or offer help to anyone in need. He loved to call family and friends to just check in and see what was happening. Patrick was often everyone's favorite brother, cousin, uncle (and he was honorary uncle to many friends' children), neighbor, and friend. He always had a big smile for anyone with whom he crossed paths.
Patrick is predeceased by his parents, brother, Michael D Evans, brother-in-law, Landon Hicks, Jr and an unofficial brother, David Erwin. Patrick is survived by siblings: Nora (Lyndell) Arnold of Jacksonville, IL, Sherryl Hicks of Hays, NC, Carolyn Jo Evans of Roodhouse, IL, Robert (Lynne) Evans of Carlinville, IL, and Charles (Nancy) Evans of Winchester, IL. Nieces and Nephews: Betty (Chris) Paddock of Fairfield, PA, Julie (Rich) Slunaker of St Peters, MO, Jed (Amanda) Arnold of Jacksonville, IL, Jessica (Andy) Wilson of Jacksonville, IL, Landon (Meredith) Hicks of Morrisville, NC, Dallas (Charity) Hicks of Statesville, NC, Andrew (Brandi) Hicks of North Wilkesboro, NC, Kyle (Kendall) Hicks of Hendersonville, NC, Nicholas (Liz) Evans of Overland Park, KS, Elisabeth (Daniel) Ryan of St Charles, MO, Casey (Morgan) Evans of Winchester, IL, and Mallory (Aaron) Kauffman of Bluffs, IL
And many greatly loved great nieces and nephews in addition to many cousins.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Daws Family Funeral Home in Winchester, IL with the funeral immediately following. A private burial will be held later. Memorials are suggested to Roodhouse Police Dept. Youth Fund, Roodhouse Fire Dept. or Winchester EMS.
