Franklin - Ruby Elvira Crow, 92, of rural Franklin passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born March 28, 1930 in Loami the daughter of John and Minnie Bilyou Dodge. She married Howard E. Crow on November 24, 1948 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2020.
Ruby is survived by three children, Darlene (Don) Dye of Waverly, Howard E. "Buzz" (Debbie Settles) Crow, Jr. of Jacksonville and John (Angela) Crow of Bluffs; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Sims (surviving husband, Bobby of Woodson).
Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the Franklin United Methodist Church where she was known as "Queen" of the church. She loved riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and saw most of the country riding with Howard. She had sang on the radio with the Prairie Sweethearts and volunteered at Passavant Area Hospital with her daughter, Joyce. She was a lover of animals and never turned away a stray.
A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Franklin United Methodist Church or PAWS . Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
