Thomas Casson Obituary

Thomas "Jerad" Casson
Jacksonville - Thomas "Jerad" Casson, 39, of Jacksonville Illinois, passed away June 3, 2023 in his home. He was born in Jacksonville, November 1, 1983, the son of Thomas E. Casson and Angela Pierson (Shane).
Throughout his life, Jerad fed his natural gift for creativity through his art and his music. His unique ability to express passion and joy inspired the lives of many including family, friends and even passers-by. Jerad took the time to acknowledge each person and make them feel special. It didn't matter who you were or what your gift was, Jerad always found it and gave you a sense of confidence and inspiration. His bright smile and personality glowed and drew you in. "He was really a force of nature, so full of charisma that the electricity of a room changed when he entered. Everything gained positivity." He was the highlight of family get-togethers and certainly the highlight in lives of those who loved him. Jerad was so much to so many. He was a son, a husband, a brother, a grandson, a friend and above all Jerad was a father. Jerad's five children were the light that guided him and filled his heart with purpose and drive. Carter, Owen, Max, Olivia and Milez, your Daddy loved you more than life itself. Hold his memories close and carry them with you as you grow and continue your journey through life. His spirit will guide you, bring you joy and give you comfort during your times of sorrow.
Jerad is survived by the love of his life, wife Meghan Casson of Jacksonville. Together, they shared a passion for music, specifically the Beatles, Flaming Lips, and everything 60's. They reveled in hippie decor, dressing the part and sharing their interests with the children. Jerad is also survived by children: Carter, Owen and Maxwell Casson of St. Peter's, MO, Olivia and Milez Casson of Jacksonville and step-son Owen Evans of Franklin; his parents, Thomas E. Casson and Angela Pierson (Shane) all of Jacksonville; a brother, Elliot Casson and sister, Reagan Casson both of Jacksonville; nephew, Hayden Casson of Jacksonville; grandparents, Sharon Mahon of Petersburgh and Debbie Casson of Jacksonville; uncle, David Vieira (Gianella) of Ft Lauderdale, Fl, aunt, Heather Carter (Greg) of Springfield and uncle, Schyler Bucher of Havana. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Richard Massey and Thomas A. Casso.
It's time to take this sad song and make it better better better.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Saturday, June 10, 2023, at The Church of Latter-day Saints, 1053 E. Vandalia Rd in Jacksonville. A service will follow in the chapel at 12:30 pm. I am so sorry to hear that Jerad passed away. I was a secretary at Salem Lutheran school for many years, and knew both Jerad and Elliott. Jerad was close to my older daughter's age, who also attended Salem. I found him to be kind to others. My prayers go out to your family during this difficult time.
