I remember Jan as being so much fun. Full of good humor.
We graduated from Rains ISD in May of 1970. We were the first class to graduate from the 'new' school.
Jan will always hold the unique distinction of being the very first person to 'lay rubber' in the open-air hallway between the gym and the home economics department. He did this in his baby-blue Mustang. Many have attempted this feat, but Jan had a small frame Mustang and he did not even scrape a fender.
I cherish the memory of attending the Emory United Methodist Church and MYF with the Moses kids and family.
Their home up on Ravine Street still reminds me of a good family.
Our Methodist Pastor during their short stay in Emory was Rev. John Byron Jarrett.
Our Class of 1970 had a 40 year reunion on June 26. We knew that Jan was near the end of his journey and we offered up a special prayer for him.

I was sorry to learn of Jan's death.
We played little league baseball together and were both stationed at Lackland AFB at the same time.
May God bless you and comfort you at this time.
