Jeffrey Parker Obituary

Jeffrey Brooke Parker, 62, passed away in Houston, Texas while out of town with his wife on Sunday, 3/28/2021. God put a candle in the window for him and he found his way home.
He loved music, preferably Jimmy Buffett and memorable classic songs from the 60s and 70s. He worried what kids these days would have to listen to in the future and what they would could consider classic rock and/or good music and how much they were missing out on. He loved to sing along in church and while sitting at home working away in his office. Psalm 100 says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Each day he fulfilled this promise. His last night on this earth he sat around a fire pit with loved ones singing and laughing until the wee hours.
He loved people, most of the time, and helping whenever he could. He learned after many years in the business world how to be intentional with his time and energy.
He was a man with deep faith and understanding that we were only going to be in this life and in this body for short time. This life is just a blink in the big picture. His wife made him promise to be around for thirty years when they married, both of them knowing it was a stretch, but he promised to do his best and he loved her unconditionally for almost eight full years. He was at peace with death and knew it would come one day and he would be in a better place.
Born and raised in Plainview, Texas, he spent his life in the business world starting in Texas, then moving to Arizona, to Georgia and back to Texas in 2010. He served on multiple boards, was involved in local events, and many non profits. He made a big impact in this life and always tried to leave it better than he found it. When he was asked to give of his time and talent, he happily did so.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie & Donna Parker. He is survived by his wife Janice 'JJ' Parker, brother Mike Parker and his wife Kari Parker, brother Chris Parker, nephews Cole, Kody, Tyler, Austen and Keaton.
A Celebration of Life is in the process of being planned and will happen at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please raise a glass of bourbon, whiskey, a local IPA, iced tea, or a good 'ole margarita to the heavens above and say, 'Fins Up Jeff!' Enjoy life, it's way too short to be unhappy, stressed & angry. Be blessed.

There is not enough space here to say all I know about Jeff. He was a passionate man and loved life. It was especially sweet for him because of his dedicated wife, JJ. Love and light.

Sincerest condolences JJ for the deep loss you must feel. Jeff and I worked closely together on the same team at Siemens for 9 years. During that time I developed a deep respect and admiration for Jeff, for his well-centered work ethic, his business acumen, and his personal demeanor. I consider myself enriched to have had him as a friend and confidante. Jeff will be missed, but his influence on so many others lives on. What a great legacy!

JJ, What a surprise when I read about Jeff in the paper. I am so sorry. I always remember him as a larger than life character with a big smile...always.

He was like a son to my husband, he spent lot of time in the garage with husband. They enjoyed each other. Jeff said , he learned a lot from Ronnie.

Met him once and it was when he brought JJ her wallet that she had forgotten when we were having happy hour after a very long hot day working the Sun City Vendor fair. He was so friendly and I could tell just a delight to be around!
