Pauline Waller Obituary

Services for Pauline (Burgess) Waller, 96, of Hale Center, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, in the First Baptist Church, Hale Center with Rev. Carrol Green and Rev. Kris Knippa officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. in the Crosbyton Cemetery, Crosbyton, Texas. The family will receive friends at Abell Funeral Home, Abernathy, Texas, on Thursday, March 23, from 6-7 p.m. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.
Mrs. Waller died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 19, 2017, in Plainview, Texas.
She was born May 20, 1920, to George Wallace and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Henderson Burgess, in San Angelo, Texas. She married Richard Etzel Waller on Dec. 21, 1935, in San Angelo, Texas, together they owned and operated Kiddie Corner Cafe in Hale Center. She was the director of Food Service at Hi-Plains Hospital, and in later years she operated Grandma's House Day Nursery out of her home. She was affectionately known as Grandma Waller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, R.W. Waller and Ralph Waller; a grandson, Paul Waller and his wife Tammy; and their daughter Michele Waller.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Logan of Hale Center; two sons, Tommy Waller of Charleston, S.C. and Jack Waller of Rogers, Ark.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hale Center Senior Citizens, 416 W. 2nd St., Box 205, Hale Center, TX 79041.
