Sonia DeLeon Sonia DeLeon, 29, of Plainview, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007, at her residence. Visitation was Saturday, April 28, 2007, and Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today, April 30, 2007, at Guerra Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. Sonia was born Feb. 16, 1978, in Weslaco, Texas, to Carlos and Sylvia Ramirez Jr. She moved to Plainview in 1996 and graduated from Plainview High School. She later attended Wayland Baptist University for two years. She married Pedro DeLeon, July 27, 1997, in Plainview. Sonia worked at Excel Cargill Meat Solutions in the tech service department until discovering she had a terminal illness. Sonia was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mrs. DeLeon was preceded in death by her brother, Carlos Ramirez III; grandmother, Elisa Cantu; and great-grandmother, Maria E. Cantu. Sonia is survived by her husband, Pedro DeLeon of Plainview; three sons, Mark DeLeon, Brandon DeLeon and Matthew DeLeon, all of Plainview; a daughter, Breanna DeLeon of Plainview; parents, Carlos and Sylvia Ramirez of Plainview; three sisters, Irma Ramirez, Brenda Ramirez and Alicia Ramirez, all of Plainview; and two brothers, Eric Ramirez and Dereck Ramirez, both of Plainview. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all who have given support to them through this tough time. They would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Area Community Hospice for their care and comfort.
