Sherrill Wright Obituary

Sherrill Ann Wright, 85, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Born on July 17, 1940, in Rensselaer, Sherrill lived a full and meaningful life rooted in love, creativity, and dedication to her family. She was a devoted homemaker who brought beauty and warmth to everything she touched. With a natural talent for sewing, gardening, baking, needlework, and home decorating, Sherrill's creativity shone through in every corner of her life and home.

Sherrill is survived by her five loving children, Richard K. Wright, Alvin, Texas, Michael Wright, Alvin, Texas, Lorin (Julie) Wright, Traverse City, Mich., Julie (Jim) Wright, Ewing, N.J., and Kara (Darren) Hill, Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Mary (Acie) Collins, Donald (Beverly) Lakin, Homer (Theresa) Lakin, Beth Lakin, and John (Carol) Lakin; as well as many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard Wright; her father, Floyd Gorley; mother, Mary Lakin; step-father, Donald Lakin; and her brother, Russell Gorley.

At this time her family will make private arrangements.

In honor of Sherrill's memory donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
