Andrews: Mrs. Addie Mae Thornton Elliott, 76, wife of the late Henry Vernon Elliott, Sr., died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the home of her son, after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M., Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Black River Free Will Baptist Church, 5437 County Line Road, Andrews, with burial to follow at Piney Forest Cemetery, Andrews, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M., Friday, January 22, 2016 at Black River Free Will Baptist Church, Andrews.
Mrs. Elliott was born on June 13, 1939 in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Roy and Gladys Coker Thornton. She was a 1957 graduate of Kingstree High School and worked at Oneita Knitting Mill. She was also the owner and operator of Elliott Farms, LLC, along with her husband, Henry. Mrs. Elliott was a former member of Andrews Garden Club and Black River Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Henry V. (Melissa) Elliott, Jr. of Andrews, daughter, Lisa Elliott (Andy) Newton of Andrews; grandchildren, Caitlin Elliott, Casey Newton (Bruce) Watt, Courtney Newton, and Henry V. Elliott, III; step-grandchildren, Tiffany (Dru) Benford and Dustin Roberts; great-grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Cayden Davis and John Ray Westin; step-great grandchildren, Camdyn Benford and Callen Benford; sister, Brooksie DeMarsico; and her special friends, Joann Dorrell, Brenda Howard, Dorothy Thornell and Tallulah Fulton.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Darlene Elliott; siblings, Roy Thornton, Jr. and Dorothy Millis.
