Bernard Russ Obituary

PAWLEYS ISLAND | Bernard N. ''Bernie'' Russ died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, Ga.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Bernhard and Marie Wernimont Russ.

He retired from American Standard as a middle manager after 26 years.

Mr. Russ served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Bernie was a communicant of Precious Blood of Christ Church, Pawleys Island, S.C.

Survivors include his wife, Anne B. Russ of Pawleys Island, S.C.; children, Diane Russ of Sunrise, Fla. and Gregory Bernard Russ and wife, Kristie M. Russ of Byhalia, Miss.; grandchildren, Morgan Ashleigh Russ, Keaghan Chase Russ and Gregory Michael Russ; sister-in-law, Millie Murtagh and family; brother-in-law, Erich Berberich and family; and cousins, Mary Robinson and Edith Wernimont.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 with the Rev. Patrick J. Stevens, MSC officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Athena, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
