Charles Fanshaw Obituary



CONWAY | Charles Albert Fanshaw, age 71, of Hall Road, died at his residence following an illness.



Mr. Fanshaw was born in Richmond, Va., a son of the late Charles and Leona Henry Fanshaw. He served in the Medical Corps of the Navy four years following his graduation from Edward Military Institute. He attended California Baptist College and went to the Golden Gate Seminary at Berkley. He worked teaching the deaf for 45 years, on the review board for DSS for many years, and the Horry County School District for the hearing impaired. Mr. Fanshaw was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway. He was predeceased by his first wife, Wanda S. Fanshaw.



Surviving Mr. Fanshaw, in addition to his wife, Gayle Fanshaw of Conway are one son, David Fanshaw of HI; two daughters, Susan Camp of Ga. and April Marie Fanshaw of Conway; one grandchild, Jeremiah I. Hill of Ga.; and two special caregivers, Andy and Ann Harrelson.



The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ben Barnett, Rev. Jerry St. John, and Rev. Gary Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. at Palmetto Funeral Home of Conway.

Memorials may be made to the School for the Deaf and Blind, 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Palmetto Funeral Home of Conway is serving the family.

You are in my thoughts everyday , I am sorry to hear that Mr.Fanshaw passed away. My memories of Mr.Fanshaw will always live on. He was a good man, the best interpter for me . Also he was a good friend .May Mr.Fanshaw live on through people's memories. THANK YOU MR.FANSHAW for being my interpter though all of my high school years.
