Charles McIntyre Obituary

CAROLINA SHORES, N.C. | Charles Thomas McIntyre, 72, of Court 6 NW Drive, passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

He was born December 21, 1935 in Robeson County, North Carolina, and was a son of the late Hubert McIntyre of Sacramento, Calif., and the late Edith Walters McIntyre McMillian of Red Springs, N.C.

Mr. McIntyre was a retired Chief Warrant Officer 4th Class with the U.S. Army National Guard. After retirement of 33 years at Ft. Bragg, he worked with Baker Chevrolet Motors in Red Springs for several years. He also retired as a firefighter with the Red Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

He was also a member of the Calabash Elks Lodge and was active with Habitat of Humanity. He was a Senior Games winner, and his favorite past-times included playing golf, fishing, and riding his Harley.

Surviving are his wife Phyllis Tyner Bracey McIntyre; two daughters, Vicki Ramsey and husband, Emery, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Sheila Sherrill and husband, Dennis, of Middletown, Md.; grandson, Michael Thomas Ramsey; sister, Ann Britt and husband, Ron, of Carolina Shores, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Lisa Collins and husband, Shannon, of Holden Beach, N.C., and Terri Enzor and husband, Monroe, of Shallotte, N.C.; two stepsons, John Bracey and wife, Sami, of Calabash, N.C., and Alex Bracey and wife, Danielle, of Little River; five step-granddaughters; and five step-grandsons.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Farrand officiating. Burial will follow in the Alloway Cemetery, Red Springs, N.C., at 2 p.m.

Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the funeral home.
