Darlene Hudson Obituary
Conway
Darlene Stanley Hudson age 52 passed peacefully at her residence on Monday, October 31, 2011. Born on December 17, 1958 in Conway, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Marie Davis Stanley. She is survived by her husband of 29 years; Paul Hudson, one son Craig (Michelle) Hudson of Conway, South Carolina, one daughter; Jaleesa Marie Hudson of Greenbelt, Maryland, her mother; Marie Davis Stanley, one sister; Martha E. Stanley of Laurel, Maryland, two brothers; Tyrone (Sheryl) Stanley of Jacksonville, Florida and Richard (Doris) Jones of Columbia, South Carolina. She is a 1976 graduate of Conway High School and received both her Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina. Darlene was a loving wife, mother and loyal friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Greater St. James AME Church in Conway, SC 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Greater St. James AME Church. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests memorial contributions to Mercy Care Hospice 8216 Devon Court Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 or Greater St. James AME Church YPD 2818 Oak Street Conway, SC 29526. An online guest book is available at www.rhuesmortuary.com. Rhue's Mortuary is serving the family.

I traveled home to Myrtle Bech this past weekend and Darlene came to mind. I remember the fun times we had when we worked nights at Sears as well as the times had on the Coastal Carolina Campus. I really miss her sweetness and wit for keeping me in check. Paul, I hope you and the family are well.

May the lord keep you and strengthen you during your time of bereavement. Darlene was a Godly woman whose own strength in the Lord always shone through. There is nothing anyone can say when you lose your soulmate and mother but I know the strength that she exibited during her "well lived" life will help sustain you all.

Paul and family, Darlene will be missed by so very many people. She never let her health issues keep her from giving you a smile and she would do anything in the world for you that she could. She was a very, very special lady and I know she had to be an incredible wife and mom. It is a blessing that you have so many memories, photos, and reminders of her to share with your grandchildren. They will know her through your sweet memories.
