Donald Wilhelm Obituary
Born on January 18, 1947 in Concord, NC, he was the son of the late George Stanton and Rachel White Wilhelm.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and received a Bronze Star. For several years, Don donated platelets to the Red Cross and was proud that he was able to help others in need.
Survivors include his wife, of 18 years, Janna Howard Wilhelm; one son, Scott Sparks of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Jennifer W. West of Cumming, GA, Laura Nguyen of Charlotte, Cheryl Sparks of Concord, NC; two brothers, Jim Wilhelm of Columbia, SC, Stan Wilhelm of Concord, NC; and three grandchildren, Mia, Gavin and Blythe.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 277, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582, Veterans Administration Hospital, Attn: Carolyn Adams, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401, or American Red Cross, Attn: Nicole Wolford, 2751 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
