Edward Rasheed Obituary



PAWLEYS ISLAND | Mr. Edward Rasheed, 84, of Pawleys Island, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, N.C.



He was born April 2, 1921 in Georgetown, S.C., to the late Naseeb and Mamie Niaomi Rasheed. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired merchant, having owned and operated Rasheed Food Store on Front Street in Georgetown. Mr. Rasheed was a member of Prince George Episcopal Church in Georgetown and was an avid wildlife photographer.



Survivors include one daughter, Anne Rasheed of Boone, N.C.; two sons, Larry Rasheed and wife, Michelle, of Staunton, Va. and Jim Rasheed of Anderson; two granddaughters, Holly Rasheed and Abbey Rasheed, both of Staunton, Va.; one grandson, Alan McCarthy of Anderson; one sister, Lucy Rasheed of Pawleys Island. He is also survived by one niece and one nephew.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Bodie Rasheed; a sister, Laurice Rasheed, and a brother, Fred Rasheed.



A memorial service will be held at a later date.
