Frederick "Fred" Flores Bartlett, 74, of Myrtle Beach, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1941 in the Philippines, son of the late Theodore and Aurora Bartlett.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. He was actively involved in scouting as a pack leader and a den leader for Webelos. Fred worked well with his hands and enjoyed tinkering in his shop on small engines and carpentry projects. He had an appreciation for nature and being outdoors. Fred adored his family and set an example that will lead them all their lives.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Bartlett; sons, Douglas Bartlett and wife, Beth of Charlotte, NC, Nelson Bartlett and wife, Susan of Myrtle Beach and Daniel Bartlett and wife, Joyce of Mass; grandchildren, Douglas Bartlett, Jr., Casey Bartlett, Jacob Bartlett and Matthew Young and wife, Rachel; and a brother, Nelson Bartlett and wife, Linda of San Antonio, TX.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Bartlett, Danny Bartlett and Theodore Bartlett and sisters, Ellen Bartlett and Alice Martin.
Services will be privately held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Fred's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

To Fred's precious family. Sorry to learn of his passing. We were stationed together at MBAFB in the 70's and went to Las Vegas together on a deployment. He was a great man and I am sure will be dearly missed. God bless.
