Daddy,
It has been one month since you left us. I still cry every day. I am trying to be strong because I know that is what you would want. Life is just very boring and empty without you. Your funeral would have made you proud. The support from the community was overwhelming. You were right, you are somewhat famous in this area....Even I had no idea how many lives you really had helped, changed and touched in one way or another. That makes me very proud to be your daughter. You would be very proud of Doug and Bryan, they are taking care of the business and Mom like you would want them to. I miss talking to you on the computer, I just miss everything. Our family will never be the same, but we will all make you proud.
I love you,
Alice

Mrs. Faye,
We were so deeply saddened by the news Friday. We could not believe it. Yank was one that was suppose to live on forever. I hope you and your family are doing well under the circumstances. May God comfort you during this time of need. Cherish the memories and never let them go. Hope to come by and visit soon.

Ms. Faye, Alice, Doug, Brian,
Words can not express to you how sorry I am for your loss. I had the pleasure of being part of the "Yank" family for many years. Ms. Faye, you will never know the impact that your family has had on my life. Like the pastor said yesterday, your backdoor was never locked. You guys always opened your home to anyone in need. God will reward him and your entire family for that. I want to take this time to say THANK YOU for letting me be one of the people you opened your home to. I will miss him and his personality that was bigger than life itself. Hemingway has lost a legend. The community has lost a friend. I pray that God will comfort all of you now in your time of need, as you guys have comforted and blessed so many with your generosity. Memories of working at Yanks will remain in my heart forever. I pray you take comfort in knowing how many lives he touched. May God be with you all in the coming days and weeks, and months. He will be greatly missed for a very long time. I love you all.

Mrs. Faye, Doug, Alice & Bryan:
I was terribly saddened to hear about Yank. I was so shocked when Mom told me. Yank was one of those people who had such a large personality, that you thought they would live forever. A large part of my childhood memories include Yank and your family. From Swimming at the pool, eating French Fries & Pepsi at the bar & shooting pool. We couldn't wait for summer to get here. Yank & Mrs. Faye have always been so good to us.
Yank was the for my family during a very difficult period for us. He & Mrs. Faye were always there for us. Mrs. Faye has been and still is an amazing friend to my Mom. My Mom, my sister and myself have all worked at Yank's. We hung out there after school and Joe & I met there. I have such wonderful memories.
After we moved to NH, Alec looked forward to visiting every summer so he could go swimming at Yanks! I can still see Yank walking around making jokes with that HUGE ring of keys on his side, telling whoever was working to not forget to fill the drink box. I used to ask him if he knew what all the keys were for, and would say he had keys older than me on that ring. He could always make you laugh.
I know this is a difficult time for all of you, but please know that you have the support of all of us and the community. Yank has left a legacy behind and has touched the lives of so many people. Please except our deepest sympathies.

Faye,
I am sorry to hear about Yank. Ya'll were such a blessing to me and my family when we lived in Hemingway. I love you and my prayers are with you. I know God will sustain you and your family during this time because you have always been an inspiration to all who know you. You always kept us focused on God and his love during our rough times. His grace is sufficient.
