John Lewis Obituary

John Willis Lewis, 70, of Murrells Inlet, died Friday, July 30, 2010 at Conway Medical Center. Mr. Lewis was born in Little River, the fifth of nine children born to the late Warren and Rosa Carroll Lewis. He was a skilled carpenter and master gardener, with over 30 years experience in the restaurant business. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a son, Carroll Lewis.
Surviving are one son, Chris Lewis and wife, Michelle, of Myrtle Beach; one daughter, Lydia Magee and husband, Matt, of Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren, Grace Lewis, Clay Lewis, and Amelia Magee.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Rev. Kirk Lawton officiating. Burial will follow in Southeastern Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
