Julian Reynolds Obituary

ANDREWS | Julian Alexander ''Bud'' Reynolds, Sr., 88, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.



Mr. Reynolds was born in Bishopville on Jan. 31, 1915, a son of the late Purley Houston Reynolds and Lou Alexander Reynolds. He attended Clemson College and the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. Mr. Reynolds was the former owner of Reynolds Drug Store and a retired Seaboard Railroad

locomotive engineer. He was also a former school teacher, principal, and school superintendent in Lee County.



Mr. Reynolds served in the S. C. House of Representatives for fifteen years. He was a former member of the Andrews Town Council and had been the Mayor Pro Tem of Andrews for a time. Mr. Reynolds was also a former board member of Horry-Georgetown Technical College.



Mr. Reynolds was a member and Elder of Andrews Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Harper's Lodge #225, Ancient Free Masons and Omar Shrine Temple. He was also a member and past president of the Andrews Lions Club. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Clemson's IPTAY club for fifty-two years.



Surviving are: his wife, Floride Josey Reynolds, of Andrews; a son, Julian A. Reynolds, Jr. and his wife Martha of Andrews; three daughters, Edith Reynolds ,of Andrews, Chris McNinch and her husband Jim, of Columbia, and Becky Reynolds, of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Hattie Blanton ,of Nichols; five grandchildren, Steven Thigpen, Josey Vereen, Jessica Thigpen, Leah McNinch and Dwight McNinch; and four great-grandchildren.



Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by four brothers, Houston Reynolds, James Reynolds, Carroll Reynolds, and Henry Reynolds; and two sisters, Lillie Mae

Fort and Frances Gnann.



Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, in Andrews Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Billy E. Rufus. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003 at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
