Not sure what to say?

Dear Kayla,
I know I am "only" your Grandmama but, the pain I feel right now writting this, is the same pain I felt that night. I don't worry about you or where you are, I know you are with Jesus. I just miss your so much.
I have heard it said that people should not ever bury their children, this is true. Grandparents should never bury their grand children and see their child crushed with grief.
I drive your car. I am so sorry I did not fix the little dent in the bumper. Your little turtle scent thing melted away. AIthough it did take several years.
I love you and I will see you later.

I know it's a little late but Kayla, you have NEVER gotten out of my thoughts. Not once since the accident. I go to your gravesite atleast 3 times a week and yet it's still not true to me. I left you a note girl. I always walk by YOUR seat in the cafeteria and honestly it seems to glow as if you're still sitting there! I see your dad alot and he is doing well - i think he realizes now that your been taking very well care of and he doesn't have to worry anymore. Bubba is doing good too, he's dating a new PRETTY girl. I know you'd approve. Denna and I talk alot about you, and my 6th grade birthday party.. which was a DISASTER but we all still managed to make it so much fun!! I want you and your family to know i will NEVER EVER forget about you and i will have your family in my prayers girl. I love you and miss you like crazy!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To The Bennett Family

I still cant believe that this happened. It was a shocking event to me when I heard it had happened. I will always remember all the memories of Kayla through our lives. It will be really hard to go on a cruise now without thinking of her. I remember all those fun times we had. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone of you. I love you all as if you were my family, because thats what we all might as well be. I love you all and pray that God will bless you in this trying time. Love you all.

My heart goes out to Kayla's family. I know right now the last thing you want to hear is that everything will be ok. It is at times like this that you have to truely trust in God and believe that he still has a way for you and is lighting your path as you carry on. I believe that a lot of lives were changed because of what happened. You should take comfort in the fact that Kayla was so special that God knew she could change the world. As i look over some of the other entries I see that her life has not only affected those at NMB, but those from other places. It takes a special person to touch the heart of a stranger and that is just what Kayla still is, a special person.

As I stare out at the world I see pain.
I stare at your smile I see stars.
I stare at the stars, I see you.
We will always see you Kayla.

Greg,Connie and Kregg,

I can still picture Kayla with her baby doll in her stroller and how caring she was with her little cousins when they would visit. It gives me such peace to know she is caring for all the babies in heaven that left this earth too soon, along with our Olivia. You will have very difficult times ahead but take comfort in knowing you raised an angel and she is always with you.
We are just steps away if you ever need anything.

Aunt Connie and Uncle Greg,

I can’t imagine what ya’ll are going through. Kayla was an intelligent girl with big hopes and dreams. I’m so happy that I had the chance to grow up with her. When I think of her I still see that little girl, although she was taller than me, Brittany, Olivia, and Meredith, with the bright red hair running around smiling. I don’t even think I can recall a time when she would get mad at anyone, unless it was bubba just because he‘s her brother. It’s hard to think that she’s gone, but just remember that she’s looking down on all of us still laughing at all of our jokes and listening when we need someone to talk to. I love you both, and I know that things will get better for everyone.

With love,
Logan

To the bennett family,I don't know you & i never got a chance to meet your dear kayla, but when i heard about another youth taken off this world to be with the Lord, my heart dropped in my stomach. my name is ashley morgan, back in august my older brother t.j morgan who was 16 got in a horrible accident on 501 & he too did not survive. So i kinda know how you all must be feeling, although no pain is the same as another persons, it still hurts, As hard as it sounds the hurt doesnt go away as fast as you like, after almost a year after the death of my brother, my heart still aches. But when you think about it, if there was no love there would be no hurt!
I really wanted to say something to comfort you in this time & not only this time but the rest of your life, but then i came to realize there is nothing, nothing no one can say or do.
Just know i really am praying for you & know that tj's probly showing kayla her way around heaven right now! right now! can you imagine how amazing it will be when you reunite again! Just keep looking forward & stay strong in the Lord.

The world will miss Kayla I didnt know her but I dont believe in strangers, the thing that stood out 1st was the name I have a niece with that name, she is younger but if something ever happened to her I hope the stranger that were ment for her but she never met would share what they felt when a 16 yr old dies, they say it takes a village to raise a child it becomes the worlds duty to mourn for them,

In this life, Kayla was a wonderful and special person that was liked and loved by everyone. In heaven, she will continue to be wonderful and special, but this time as an angel. Kayla will be missed but never forgotten. It's not how long we live in this world, but what we do while we're here. Even though Kayla was with us for a short period of time, Kayla touched many people's lives as witnessed by Sunday's memorial celebration of her life. We sorrow in her passing, but like Rev Williams said at the service, we must continue on being the best we can be. That is what Kayla would have wanted. We will see her again one day in heaven. Thoughts and prayers are with Greg, Connie, Kregg, the family and close friends. Please take comfort knowing that she is now in God's Loving Care. It will be an honor for the Morris Family to pay tribute to Kayla by our contribution to the Kayla Marie Bennett Scholarship Fund. God bless each of you.

Dear Connie, Greg and Kregg,
I know that words will never fix anything, However, I can say I know what you are feeling and Although it has been 28 year since I lost my daught Hope in a accident it is time like this that bring it all back. But handled in a much differenct way. I know that your family loves God and that make all the differents in the world. Knowing how hard it is knowing God can you imagine what it would be like if you did not know him. I find my self thanking him every day that he directs my life and not anyone else. Pray that God make you a blessing to someone else in this time of trouble by showing the world that God is real by letting him have control in your life espically now and you will find more confort that you ever thought possible. I remind my self that my child could have lived but maybe worst things were in store by the devil that I could not even thing of. I beleve that God honored my prayers as my child was growning up that he would keep his hand on her life and for sure take her to live with him forever when it was her time. My daughter has just moved to another city as if she were off to college and I will be there with her in the future.
Connie you and Greg be confort to each other and to Kregg. Don't let this but a wedge between the three of you in anyway. It will get better but never forgotten. And the one thing I can say is I LOVE you all even if we don't see each other very offen. God Bless and Keep you all. Brenda King

Words can't express how much you will be missed. Our families have been so close for so long and you were a BIG part of it! You were a minature bride and Kregg was the minature groom in my wedding in 1998. I remember how excited you were to be there all dressed up and how you looked just like me. Big Nancy (Aunt) spent many long hours in making your dress and head piece to match mine. You were so cute and was there beside me every step I took. I moved away shortly after that and haven't seen you in a long time but mom kept me posted on you and all the wonderful things you were doing. I saw you about a week ago at that mall and couldn't believe what a beautiful young lady you have grown to be. You will be missed! Gregg,Connie & Kregg-my thoughts and prayers will be with you-I love you!

Dear Connie & Greg,
We are just so sad to hear of the tragic loss of Kayla. It still just so unbelievable. Just about a week ago I had found some pictures of Kayla with Sierra and Dakota. It was from when we first moved in the neighborhood and Kayla would come by and watch the kids for me. She would always come by and help babysit for me. Sierra & Dakota just loved her! After we moved they always asked about her and loved going to the football games so they could get to see her again. I think Kayla helped inspire Sierra to always be kind and to love all children.
I know this time will be so hard for all of you, but do know that Kayla is now an angel watching over you. God must have bigger plan for her if He needed to take her now.
Please know, if you need anything, even just to talk, sit with you or a shoulder to cry on, we are here for you!!
We will keep you in our prayers and ask God to help you in this time and to give you the strength you will need.

The Bennett's,
Sometimes in life you like to step back and question why? In this situation it's "why Kayla"? Kayla was a great person who loved you so much, why her? God doesn't need reasons for his actions! He obviously needed another angel for his heavenly chior, or a babysitter for all of the kids who have gone on before. Kayla had a smile that could brighten anyone's day and was always nice to everyone! I remember our crazy talks at Aztec and i was glad she played volleyball with me! Many times in life we take the little things we have for granted! But Kayla didn't, she cherished everything she was given, especially her family! I love her and you guys with all my heart! She isn't resting in peace like most people think, because her earthly body is in the ground but she is rejoicing and dancing and laughing and having a heavenly time. Wishing we could all be there to see the majestic sights of heaven!

May God comfort you all through this time...but know that her being a Christian makes the pain ease alot!

Love yal

Mrs. Connie, you and your whole family are in my familys thoughts and prayers. Kayla was happy everytime I saw her. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was wonderful to talk to and be around. Im gonna miss seeing her during school and at other events. My dad also told me how the both of you would exchange stories everyday at work about Kayla and myself. I truly know and feel that you were her number one hero. Your family is in our prayers.

Mr.Gregg and Mrs.Connie,

I do not want to sit here and try to make you happy because I know this is hard. I would like you to know that my family and I are praying for each one of you. Kayla was a great friend. She always made me smile in our yearbook class and was always dedicated to anything that we did. It is very hard to know that I will not be seeing Kayla when I go to visit in the future, but I will always know that she is there anyway looking and smiling. I hope that you continue to stay strong and know that Kayla will be missed by all of us, but she will continue to live through our thoughts and memories of her. God bless each and every person in your family!

I am sorry for the passing of Kayla as soon as I heard about the accident my heart sank to the floor. I did not know Kayla personally but I know how much she was loved and how close Gregg was to her with coaching softball. If there is any thing Ronnie and I can do please let us know. She is in a better place now and just remember she will always be with you where ever you are. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Coach Bennett, Ms. Connie, and Kregg,

I wasn't ever really close to Kayla, but throughout the years I've come to learn of what a great person she was. The years when we played softball together, I remember how she could always brighten the rest of us up if we weren't smiling or totally into what we were doing. I'm praying for you and I hope you know you can always come to me if you need something. My sympathy is with you.

I can honestly share your grive. To lose a child is a great loss. The ache of missing will never go away but in time the pain will subside. No words can bring comfort at a time like this and sometimes you find yourself being mad at the world for your loss. Just always try to remeber how she was and always ask yourself if she where here right now what would she have me do? May God bless your family and many prayers are being said for you today.

I regularly Read the online edition of the Sun News From up here in East Tennessee.Although I never knew your daughter and friend; from the account of her life I feel as if I did and like you feel a tremendous sense of loss. If the little I have read about her kindness and gentleness effected me like this, I can't imagine the grief and sorrow you all must be going through. God Bless, keep and comfort all of Kayla's loved. I look forward to meeting this outstanding young woman someday in her new heavenly home

To the Bennett Family,

Words cannot express the sympathy we feel for your family. Kayla lost her life much too soon and it is one of God's mysteries as of why we need to bury a child. We have never met Kayla or your family, but as a mother with a 15 year old (a new driver)I feel that I just needed to send a message to your family that Kayla's passing effected him and his friends and she will be an angel for others. We will keep her and your family in our prayers.

The Bennett family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. I am deeply saddened by this horrible tragedy.

I am so glad that God put your family in my life. Without knowing Kayla and your family I wouldn't be the person I am today. God chose her for a reason and I know she is looking down on us smiling and watching over us right now. If you need anything, I am here for yall. I love yall very much and I am going to keep yall in my prayers everyday. I love you Jarhead, Mrs. Connie, and Bubba.
