Muriel Cotter Lee, 85, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her residence
Muriel was born on October 1, 1926 in Montreal, Canada and was the daughter of the late Daniel Patrick and Bertha Bain Cotter. She was also predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert Bennett Lee, US Army Lt. Col. Ret. who passed away January 2009, four brothers, Patrick Neil Cotter, Gerard Edward Cotter, John Harold Cotter and James Daniel Cotter.
Muriel was a graduate of Sir George Williams College of Montreal Canada with a degree in Commerce. She worked for several years at the World Bank, Washington, DC and retired in 1974 from the International Monetary Fund, Washington, DC. She enjoyed Cross-stitching, Hooking Rugs and was an avid Golfer.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Susan Lee Harris and her husband, Paul of Reston, VA; a step-son, Jeffrey D. Lee and his wife, Lynn of Greenville, NC; four grandchildren, Meredith Lynn Harris, Joanna Lee Harris, Joseph Dean Lee and Jacob Downes Lee; special friends, Barbara Mulcair of Montreal, Canada and Samuel Syme of Myrtle Beach. She also had a special canine friend, Minnie II.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 in the Southern Palms Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, North Myrtle Beach, SC with Dr. J. Kirk Lawton, Jr. officiating.
Memorials may be made in Muriel's memory to the Tara Hall Home for Boys, PO Box 955, Georgetown, SC 29442 or the Humane Society of Grand Strand Shelter, 3241 10th Ave. Ext. N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

You were a pillar of strength in our Salute to your brother Jimmy Cotter on Sept 28, 2011. He and I were classmates at St.Leo's Academy in Montreal from 1940 t0 1949.
