Paula Hughes Obituary

HILTON HEAD | Paula Casey Hughes, 59, of Hilton Head Island, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at home surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Nottingham, England, the daughter of the Late Herbert and Edith Boyce.



Originally from England she owned and operated a driving school and raised her two children with former husband, Mick Casey. She immigrated to the United States in 1982 to join her sister Edna in Myrtle Beach, SC. The two sisters worked side-by-side owning and operating The Falcon Lounge and The Red Snapper. She met and married David Hughes, and they merged their two families together. They relocated to Hilton Head Island, SC, in 1988. She settled there where she owned and operated Finishing Touch Cleaning Service and worked with the family business, Hughes Group Plumbing.



Her sisters, Bertha Jones, Rita Croft, and Edna Riley preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, David Hughes, and her daughter Michelle Casey; son Michael and his wife Katie Casey; son Bill Hughes and his wife Sheri Rolfe; son Bob Hughes and his wife Joanne Gamilis, all of Hilton Head; a daughter Sandy Hughes Arnott and husband Bill Arnott of Irmo, SC; and son Tommy Hughes of San Diego, CA. Seven grandchildren, Tanya Rolfe, Bryant Rolfe, Christopher McGlamery, Laura Billington, Michael Casey, Will Arnott, and Ryan Arnott. Her mother-in-law Myra Knox. Her niece Paula and husband R.A. Green, nephews Robbie and Greg Riley, all of Myrtle Beach, SC.



The family will be receiving friends at the home, 126 A Marshland Road, on Thursday evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be Friday, October 8, 2004, at The Island Funeral Home and Crematory, 4 Cardinal Road, at 12:30 p.m.
