Royce Fink Obituary

Royce Fink
April 27, 1940 - July 1, 2018
Myrtle Beach
Royce Fink, age 78, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Conway Manor with his wife by his side.
Royce was born on April 27, 1940, in York County, PA, the son of the late Howard and Pauline Cassel Fink, who were Dairy Famers. He had an idyllic childhood and enjoyed the outdoors while working with his family on the farm during summers. Deer hunting with his friends and family was a really enjoyable activity for him throughout his early years.
In 1962 he married his high school sweetheart, Susan (Lau). They became interested in local food, growing and cooking regional dishes from their Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Myrtle Beach became one of their favorite vacation spots, and they moved here in 2001, after taking early retirement.
Royce and Susan traveled several times to Great Britain to enjoy the historical bucolic small market towns and local food. They joined the Waccamaw Market Co-Op to support sustainability, diversity and recycling. Royce was an avid golfer, playing frequently before his illness made it impossible to play.
In addition to his wife of fifty six years, Royce is survived by his son, Andrew, of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Wendy Miller (Steven); and grandson, Aidan of Las Vegas.
Royce was a quiet, friendly person who had many friends both in PA and Myrtle Beach. He will be especially missed by his "little buddy", Lucky, a sweet West Highland Terrier, who was his constant companion.
Royce believed that all living things that have been a part of our world are still here, in one form or another. So love will always exist, because it is the strongest living thing there ever was and is.
A private, green burial will be held at Dust to Dust Cemetery in Swansea, SC.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
