I want to send my prayers for the family, I didn't know her for long only a couple times at a birthday party for a friends mom. I know she is in the lords hand now. She was a very pleasant and joy to talk to.

Skeeter, we just wanted to let you know how saddened we are to hear about Shirley. It will be strange not to see her sitting on that porch and waving as we go by. You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this transition period. Our hearts go out to you and all the family.

Albert, I'm sorry to hear about this. Those of us who worked together, and helped take care of Shirley, still speak of her often. She's just someone you will never forget. It's a shame to hear she has passed.
I hope you are doing ok, and if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to give me a call.

She was a lady to the end
Shirley B. Sketers March 4, 1937-December 10, 2010-
She was a great lady-in her need to be a part of this society.
A person who always treated me right-a thoughtful person in life.
One day she met this man-and to do life, she took Alberts hand.
Together they walked- sharing love, joy, as they talked.
Her heart was kind, his heart free-they became a blended family.
She loved Albert, her mother, her kids-this was the reason Shirley lived.
She lived through sickness + pain-to be here for those who carry her name.
Shirley suffered seem like a lifetime-within her body, also her mind.
But through every darkness, she would awake-and live her life in faith.
God was her comforter, her friend-she couldn’t of survived life without him.
I remember one day-she invited me to visit, with the gentle words she’d say.
We sat out side drinking beer-to me the words came sweet to my ears.
Yelling, screaming to one another-she was like a sister, Albert a brother.
She was always a great lady-as her differences blended, friends and family.
Today I remember her smile-and believe me it traveled for miles.
Im going to miss her, as will all of you-but as with birth, death is the other thing we have to do.
So I say to Albert + the kids-you were! the reason, Shirley fought to lived.
You were the reason she fought to be-a wife, mother, to her family.
You were her life-so please remember her as a bright light.
So Shirley Sketers, this is your day-and we will all be with you one day.
Rest In Peace, Shirley. By: Patricia Robinson-12-12-10-2:30pm

Albert, I hope you remember me. I worked with you at Possum Trot in the 80's and remember you well. I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my husband, Joe this year. I know how you feel. Take good care of yourself. Knowing you, Shirley is with our Lord and Savior.
