Sylvia Martin Obituary
Ms. Martin, 61, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at her residence. She was born September 22, 1948 in Florence to the late William E. and Lotta Baxley Martin.
Sylvia was a graduate of McClenaghan High School and USC-Florence. She was the Manager Commercial & Consumer Lending for Peoples Federal Savings and Loan. She then worked for BB&T in Florence and Sumter, retiring in 2007 as a Business Service Assistant. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple.
Surviving are daughter, Michelle Guthrie (Bruce) Monson of Florence; sons, William Joshua Guthrie of Florence and Michael Jordan Guthrie of Myrtle Beach; and grandchildren, Emily, Skyler, Eden and Gavin.

I was sorry to hear about Sylvia. I worked with her at Peoples Federal for many years in Conway. She always could make us laugh even when things weren't going well.

I worked with Sylvia at Peoples Federal for several years and enjoyed getting to know her. I also saw her occasionally when she worked with BB&T, as we worked in the same building. I had lost contact with her the last several years. I am so sorry to read of her death, but my thoughts and prayers are with each one of her family members.

I have very fond memories of your mother and all of you..We spent many happy days at church together and when we lived next door together at Forrest Lake. You will be in my prayers and I still love you very much.
