Vincent Tomasulo Obituary

PAWLEYS ISLAND | Vincent ''Vin'' James Tomasulo of Hagley Estates and formerly of Hasbrouck, N.J., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.



Born Aug. 10, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Victoria Nassi Tomasulo and the late Vincent J. Tomasulo Sr. Mr. Tomasulo was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam. He was retired Vice-President of World Wide Telecommunications from Chase Manhatten Bank. He was known in his community as ''Dr.'' Tomasulo because of his computer expertise and willingness to help his friends. He had created and installed the data base of all properties in Hagley Estates for the Property Owners Assoc. where he also served as vice president. Mr. Tomasulo was an officer of the Sea Gull Mens Golf League and also designed and installed their computer data base and handicap systems. He has recently become involved in the Howard Adult and Community Education School where he had been conducting computer classes for beginners and was training to mentor adults, one on one, in a reading program. ''Uncle Vinny'' was always smiling, laughing and a friend and mentor to all his nieces and nephews.



Surviving in addition to his mother of Las Vegas, Nev. are his wife, Lorraine Tomasulo; son, Vincent T. Tomasulo of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Sarah Nicole and Anthony Vincent Tomasulo; sister, Stella Weis of Las Vegas, Nev. and Mary Lou Porter of Rochelle Park, N.J. and many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.



Services will be 7 p.m., Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7, Thursday at the funeral home.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Howard Adult and Community Education School, 500 South Kiminski St., Georgetown, SC 29440. or Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 North Frazer St., Georgetown, SC 29440.

I am very sorry that Vinnie passed away. I said a prayer for him when I saw him outside the gym. May God give the family comfort and strength through this dificult time. I will always remember his smile because it lit up Health Point, he will be greatly missed.
