Wendell K. Padgett, 49, of Ash, NC, died Monday, July 16, 2012.
Born on October 9, 1962 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Peggy E. Padgett and the late Elza C. Padgett.
Wendell is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tina Hewett Padgett; daughters Kelly and Kayla Padgett; brothers, Bryan and Perry Padgett; sisters, Joyce Morris, Jenny Seawright, Betsy Padgett; and aunt and uncle, Bernard and Carolyn Padgett.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, July 20 at Lee Funeral Home in Little River/North Myrtle Beach.

My wife and I thought highly of Wendell. He shared many stories with us about Ocean Creek. And also about his family. I being a retired basketball coach, he would bring me newspaper articles about Kayla. It was fun seeing how proud he was. We will miss him, our sympathy to the family
