Willie Chandler Obituary
Mr. Chandler was born Nov. 27, 1945 in Georgetown. He was a star football player for Howard High School. He served in the U.S. Army, where he received several medals of honor. After his tenure in the U.S. Army, he served as a football coach for a short period of time.
Survivors include his mother, Carrie Lee Saab of Georgetown; and his children, Willette Grant, Tammy Dolly, Tony Dolly, Willie Chandler, Kareem Chandler and Maurice Gadson, all of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 25, 2006 at Walter S. Frasier Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Habersham officiating. Burial, directed by McKnight Frazer Funeral Home, will follow in the Morning Glory Cemetery.
