Clarence W. Shaw, 90 of Streator passed away Monday morning August 8, 2022.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 – 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Paul and Adam Losey, Kevin, and Charlie Chismarick, Pat Promenschenkel and Jonathan Arizzi. Honorary will be Jack, Bill and Dick Cunningham, Joe Adamchak and Ron Handzus.
Clarence was born on September 28, 1931, in McLeansboro, IL to Logan and Tollie (Sparks) Shaw. He married Joyce A. Cunningham on August 10, 1957. She preceded his death on December 7, 1998.
Surviving are daughters, Kathy Losey of Streator, Karen Schmitt of Streator and Julie (Michael) Arizzi of Bolingbrook, grandchildren, Paul (Christy) Losey, Felicia (Pat) Promenschenkel, Adam (Amanda) Losey, Ali (Kevin) Chismarick, Gabriella and Jonathan Arizzi, great-grandchildren, Lily Promenschenkel, Anna and Abby Losey, Olivia, Charlie and Molly Chismarick, Braylen, Jack and Hadlee Losey, sisters-in-law, Linda Wagner and Melva Cunningham and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce, son in law David Losey, In-laws, Bill and Nancy Cunningham, Toots and Raymond Decker, Nancy Szobar, Glenn Cunningham, and Mary Jane Loy.
Clarence graduated from Magnolia Swaney High School in 1951. He started working at Dells Appliance in 1958, he later purchased from Arthur Dell, then selling the business to his daughter Kathy in 1997 at which time the stores name changed to Shaw Appliance. Clarence was a member of the former St. Anthony's Church and currently St. Michael the Archangel Church. He was a member of the Streator Elks Lodge, Streator Knights of Columbus, he served on the Board of Directors of Streator Home and Loan since 2000 and also a original board member of the Woodland Education Foundation.
Memorials may be made to the Woodland Education Foundation.
