Constance Maggi Obituary

Constance "Connie" Lee Maggi (Marta)
Born: December 9, 1953 in LaSalle, IL
Died: February 13, 2025 in Soldotna, AK
Constance "Connie" Lee (Marta) Maggi (71) departed this Earth to be with her Jesus on February 13th, 2025. She was in her favorite place, her home near Soldotna, Alaska, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.
Connie is survived by her loving children Ronnie (Angel Hall) Maggi, Cara (S.O. Glen Faulkner) Marcuson, and Angela (S.O. Fred Chace) Hinnegan, grandchildren Tyler Marcuson, Kyle Marcuson, Jake Marcuson, Calli Maggi, Cori Maggi, and Spencer Hinnegan, great grandchild Niko Miller, siblings Laurie (Wade Wahrenbrock) Marta, Lynn (Mettille) Marta, Larry (Roxanne Matera) Marta, Charles (S.O. Janey Freitas) Marta, Lisa (Todd Kemmerling) Marta, Richard Marta, Tony (Maureen Hay) Marta, and Chris (Cheri) Sipula, stepmother Marilyn Marta, and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved father Lawrence Marta, mother Mary Pat Wright, brother-in-law Paul Mettille, and her favorite schnauzer, Riley.
Connie was born in LaSalle, Illinois in 1953 and grew up in Ottawa with her loving parents and 7 siblings. She married young and soon had a family of her own. Connie moved to Alaska in December 1979 where she and her husband of 37 years raised 3 children. She loved her family fiercely, especially her children, grandchildren, and siblings, whom she showered with smiles, hugs, and amazing Italian cooking. She loved others too, and knew no one who she did not call her friend. Connie's children knew at an early age that they had hit the Mom-Jackpot, and all of their friends reminded them as well.
Connie's greatest talent was her ability to really see and love people. All people. This extraordinary talent launched her to great success as a saleswoman, florist, and receptionist at Safeway, Sears, Food Services of America, and Hall Builders. In 2002, Connie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She went on to defy all the odds battling and defeating cancer twice, navigating end stage renal disease, and eventually succumbing to endometrial cancer after a 10-year fight.
Connie's faith and trust in God was her greatest strength. She embodied all of the facets of a virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. Strength and honor were her clothing. In her tongue was the law of kindness. She looked after her household well. Her children rose up and called her blessed. She reached forth her hands to the needy. Although there are many virtuous women, Connie excelled them all.
A Celebration of Connie's Life will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ, 39322 Dudley Ave., Soldotna, AK 99669. https://www.alaskanfuneral.com/obituaries/Constance-Connie-Maggi?obld+37314731

Connie (Constance) and I were BFF´s from the Catholic Grade School, St Francis, Ottawa, IL. While we lost contact after high school, that friendship has been imbedded in my heart and I will forever fondly remember her.

Connie made an impact on everyone around her. Even if you weren't the one having a conversation with her, you experienced her joy just by being in close proximity. She radiated Jesus.

Love and prayers for you, Cara and Angela and for the whole family. Your Mama's memory is cherished.
