Died: May 24, 2022 in Rockford, IL
Daniel "Dan-O" James Logsdon, 49, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford.
A celebration of life will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
Daniel was born on October 20, 1972 in Ottawa to John Martain and Linda (Dixon) Pearl Logsdon. He worked at Liberty Laser for 25 years. Daniel was married to Carol Sylvester. He liked to fish, hunt, watch sci-fi movies and was a big Star Trek fan. On Sundays, he loved to go out and spend the day with his father. He loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sylvester of Ottawa; his father, John M. Logsdon of Marseilles; his mother-in-law, Ethel Sylvester of Ottawa; a daughter, Sabrina J. Logsdon of Ottawa; two brothers, John H. (Margaret Sly) Logsdon of Marseilles, Allen L. (Marilyn Tucker) Logsdon of Harvard, IL; a sister, Susan (Dennis) Hancock of Ottawa; and nieces and nephews, Raymond C. McCormick, Jessica E. McCormick, and Travis Logsdon.
He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother John and Linda Dixon; his grandparents, John and Dorthy Logsdon; an aunt, Norma Jean Gosset; and his best childhood friends, Neil and Carl Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Lindenmuth, Josh Biffany, Benjamin Broadus, Brian Greene, Mark Hirschman, and Jerry Gosset.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
