Daniel J. Vicini, 78 of Charlotte, NC passed away on May 9, 2024.
Dan was born on September 21, 1945 in Ottawa, IL to Betty (Schwarzbach) and Walter Vicini. He was raised in Ottawa and graduated from Marquette High School and Illinois State University. Through the years he and his family lived in Ohio, Connecticut, Massachusetts and North Carolina. He worked as an executive in forklift sales at Caterpillar, H.O. Penn and Barloworld. Dan was an avid golfer, traveler, card player and sports fan.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Kathi (Knutson) of 56 years, his daughter Jennifer Levesque (Randy), his son David Vicini (Kelly Queener), grandchildren Meghan and James Levesque, siblings Susan Long (William), David Vicini (Betty), Diane Eichelkraut and Patsy Bennington. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister Mary Beth O'Brien.
A memorial will be held at a future date.

Sorry to hear of Dan´s passing. I grew up in the same neighborhood and was close friends with his sister Patsy. I remember Dan as a good basketball player and golfer.

We were so sorry to hear the news of Dan's passing. Kathi kept us updated on Dan's final struggle. We, and he and Kathi, spent many good times while visiting each other in Charlotte and South Bend. I will miss our many texts bringing each other up on the good books we read, our golf scores and the political landscape.

so long, Carrot! You are etched in my Ottawa memories as a teammate and classmate. Our dads were part of the early a.m. Pine Hills foursome for years! And you and I joined Heaton, Cisco, and Ken Cross for our 1963 Crusader golf team. Those were the days, my friend!

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of a great friend. I met Dan in the late 90's about business and our relationship grew from there. Dan took me on my first tour of NY City and we had a ball as we did on many other occasions. You will be missed my friend.
