Robert "Bob" Elzer, 93, of Wood Dale, Illinois, died on March 15th, 2026.
Robert was born on September 9th, 1932 in Ottawa, IL. Robert leaves behind two sons, Christopher Elzer and wife Sheryll, and Robert "Bones" Elzer of Ottawa, Illinois. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Melva Lange Elzer who died on October 9th, 2024; his brothers, Henry Elzer, Arnold Norman, William and Joe Elzer; and sisters, Jean Sawicki and Marian Tylk.
Bob served his country in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded two Bronze Stars.
He was an airplane enthusiast. Bob owned his own Cessna, and loved flying until he decided to give it up at the ripe old age of 90.
Bob worked as a mechanic for American Airlines for 32 years before his retirement.
He was also an avid deer hunter, and enjoyed hunting with his sons.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

My heartfelt sympathies to Bob, Chris, and your family. Robert Sr. was a kind and gracious man, and I will always cherish the beautiful memory of sharing Thanksgiving dinner at his home. His warmth and kindness meant so much to me.
May you find comfort and peace, knowing he is reunited with Melva in our Father´s loving arms.
