Born: July 16, 1946 in Mount Vernon, IN
Died: February 22, 2025 in Oswego, IL
George Robert Gross, 79, of Marseilles, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at The Reserve in Oswego.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 26 at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IN at 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion in Mt. Vernon from 2 to 4 p.m. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles is entrusted with arrangements.
George was born on July 16, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, IN to Paul George and Mary Etta Pauline (Walker) Gross. He was one of seven children. On November 5, 1977, he married Lana Nickell and moved to Carol Stream, IL to work at Spraying Systems as a machinist before retiring. He was married for 44 years.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved his family and his dogs.
George is survived by his daughters, Erin (Jerry) Hill and Amanada Gross (George McAeney); his grandchildren, Matt (Ashley) Hill, Kristen (David) Lawson, Nathaniel Gross, and Chase McAnemy; and his brothers, Paul, Dennis, and Phillip Gross.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Raymond, Thomas, and Patty Gross.
