Died: January 7, 2022 in St. Charles, IL
Jane A. Rausch passed away peacefully in St. Charles, Illinois on January 7, 2022 at the age of 92, one month short of her 93 birthday.
She was born Jane Ann Mack to Edwin and Hada Mack on Feb. 8, 1929 in Streator, Illinois. She graduated from Streator High School in 1948 and attended DePaul University where she received a degree in administration. She has resided in Marengo, Illinois for the past 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Walter E. Nelson, her loving husband of 26 years; her second husband of 26 years, John B. Rausch "Jack" of Marengo, Illinois; and her grandson Walter Austin.
She is survived by her 4 children, Walter Nelson (Victoria), Tom Nelson (Sandy), Marilyn Piaskowy (Kim), and Karen Austin (Mallory); 3 stepchildren, Cathy Rausch Dixon (Don), Jack Rausch (Kathleen) and James Rausch (Christine); 13 grandchildren; and many loving great-grandchildren.
"Janie" was a familiar face in Marengo for almost 70 years, behind the checkout counter at the Ben Franklin store, volunteering at the Florence nursing home, helping out at her church bake sales and making her regular visits to Sullivans for tiramisu.
Per her wishes, no funeral service is planned. A memorial to celebrate her life is being planned for this summer.
